A Blooming Transformation:
Before Photos
This historic home’s garden started from scratch and grew over time from one primary garden around the front porch to an expansive landscape that now frames the house from all sides.
From the beginning of the homeowner’s purchase creating a garden that complemented the historic property was an important feature. They called Annette during the home buying process to consult on the landscape potential.
A Blooming Transformation:
After Photos
The front yard is anchored by two very beautiful old saucer magnolias.
To transition from the house to the garden eleven pallets of flagstone were stacked to create terraces and walkways.
Gorgeous Evelyn roses climb up the front and back porches providing an inviting perfume scent as soon as the homeowner walks outside.
One thousand Pink Charm daffodils and 750 Apricot colored tulips were planted throughout the property to coordinate perfectly with exterior of the home.
The back yard is lined with Morton Lilacs, hybridized by the Morton Arboretum in Chicago. They have an ornamental cinnamon colored bark and large fragrant white blossoms in late spring. The focal point of the backyard is a charming folly built for enjoying the space.
A beautiful border extending the length of the drive frames up the property.
